HTC ChaCha review and specification

HTC reveals its new smart phone that uses Android OS, v2.4 (Gingerbread) and a 600 MHz processor. Calling it as HTC ChaCha Mobile Phone, the size is 64.6 x 10.7 x 114.4mm and weighs 120gms (4.2 ounces) with battery.

The phone boasts of 2.6-inch Touchscreen with 480 x 320 pixels resolution and a QWERTY keyboard. Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and Proximity sensor for auto turn-off is yet another attraction.

Audio aspect of this mobile phone is commendable with MP3/AAC+/WAV/WMA player and MP4/H.264 player. The phone supports Playback .aac, .amr, .ogg, .mid, .mp3, .wav, .wma (Windows Media Audio 9). Recording is with .amr format. The video support is provided for 3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv (Windows Media Video 9) and video recording for .3gp.

The audio alert types of the phone come in with Vibration mode, MP3 ringtones and WAV Ring tones. The phone has in built loud speaker facility which will definitely add comfort for the calls to be maintained.

The browser used is HTML and the messaging service is complete with SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email and IM.

Taking pictures in mobile phones has been the trend. To keep up with this trend, the gadget did not forget to give a 5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels colour camera with auto focus, LED flash, Geo-tagging and face detection facility. It is also equipped with a secondary VGA front camera.

Not being new to the mobile world, the connectivity options are immense. The Bluetooth comes with 3.0 with FTP/OPP for file transfer.
Instant connectivity with Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n and the PBAP phonebook access for the car kit is yet another remarkable feature of this phone that makes it unique with extra facilities for the owner. A2DP for wireless stereo headsets also enhances the phone’s features. The device is also fitted with internal GPS antenna.

The HTC has been careful to complete the uniqueness of this phone by adding a dedicated Facebook button for instant social networking. DATA GPRS and EDGE is equipped for improved data transmission.

Memory of the phone is one other remarkable factor that will definitely make you stick to it. Reviewing the technical aspects of the phone, it has a ROM of 512MB and a RAM of 512MB. The memory expansion is possible with an external memory output, a microSD™ memory card (SD 2.0 compatible) up to 32GB and a 5-pin micro-USB 2.0 which are also provided. The memory for phonebook and call records is unlimited for this device.

The bright silver and stylish black colours give the phone a stunning look. The HTC Mobile Phone also has multiple features like G sensors that acts as an accelerometer and measures the forces that act on it, allowing auto screen rotation and other device enhancements. Digital compass, proximity sensors and light sensors are also provided to enhance the support features of the mobile.

The organiser facility, voice memo, document viewer and predictive text input also make it a well groomed business phone. Of course the games add to it. Google search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Picasa integration, Google talk, SNS integration, everything cast a style not to be missed.

The phone comes in with a Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1250mAH. The talk time of the battery varies with the type of the phone. For a WCDMA up to 420 minutes and for GSM it’s up to 450 minutes. The stand by time is up to 660 hours for WCDMA and up to 430 hours for GSM networks. The HTC ChaCha Camera Mobile Phone is expected to hit the market in 2011 Q2 with 2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and 3G HSDPA 900 / 2100.
