iPhone and iPad with " Dual-Mode Chipset "


Once the iPhone officially comes to CDMA, an issue back blows. To be more efficient, Apple is rumored to want to switch to dual-mode chipset from Qualcomm.

Currently, the iPhone and iPad using chipsets from Infineon for its wireless communications.

The goal, Apple did not want to have to make two types of devices to different networks. As practiced today, with the iPhone version of GSM and CDMA iPhone.

That said, Qualcomm's soon to provide dual-mode chipset that can run on both networks. This certainly will be easier than the production side.

It is estimated, dual-mode chipset will be used on the iPhone and iPad next generation. Other rumors, the upcoming iPad also will have support for additional SD Card storage media.
