BlackPad – BlackBerry Tablet

The Canadian group Research In Motion (RIM), maker of the BlackBerry smartphone, could enter the electronic tablet “BlackPad” next week at a conference in San Francisco. According to the newspaper, the tablet will have a seven-inch screen and one or two integrated cameras, and includes a Bluetooth connection. However, you can connect to telephone networks only through a BlackBerry.

The new product, which will attempt to compete with the IPAD superachievers Apple touchscreen tablet that combines the functionality of a mini computer, a music player and a media player, would go on sale in the fourth quarter, according to Wall Street Journal.

Unlike the IPAD, whose operating system is based on the smart phone iPhone, BlackPad have a new platform, developed by QNX Software Systems, a firm acquired by RIM this year, it added. The Toronto based company announced last week that in the second quarter exceeded 50 million of BlackBerry users worldwide.
